Brand Heritage Institute, Inc. (BHI) is an independent non-profit organization incorporated in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It has been granted 501(c)(3) tax exempt status as a public charity by the United States Government (Internal Revenue Service).


BHI operates from private offices. BHI does not accept visitors without an appointment.

BHI is supervised by a Board of Directors and managed on a daily basis by the BHI President. The separate Board of Advisors provides advice and counsel to BHI, but its role is unofficial and suggestions from its members are non-binding. The publications, communications, and activities of BHI do not necessarily represent the opinions or recommendations of the Board of Advisors or its members.

BHI is not affiliated with any universities, corporations, or organizations. BHI officers, board members and instructors may hold simultaneous appointments elsewhere and BHI may identify their employers or former employers for the purpose of demonstrating the expertise of such individuals. BHI publications may refer to corporations and brands for the purpose of illustrating theory and its practical application. Any references to universities, corporations, or organizations should not be interpreted as statements or implications that BHI is operating in partnership with such entities, that such entities have endorsed BHI, that BHI has endorsed such entities, or that such entities are providing funding to BHI. Any partnerships, endorsements, or financial sponsorships are listed in the descriptions of specific programs, events, or publications.


All content published by BHI or published on its behalf by other organizations is considered to be journalism. This includes all content published or appearing on our website at or in Brand Heritage Review. This also includes contributions by BHI or its officers to social media operated by third parties.

BHI educational programs are considered non-credit professional development or corporate training seminars. Participants receive certificates of completion, but credits do not transfer to external degree programs. BHI is not registered as a degree-granting institution of higher education in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Some instructional materials used in BHI educational programs are purchased from Harvard Business School (HBS), but the related BHI programs are not affiliated with or endorsed by HBS. Some instructional materials published by BHI are designed to be used in conjunction with materials purchased separately from HBS, but these BHI publications are not affiliated with or endorsed by HBS.
